Visiting the website

When you visit ourround.de, our hosting and security provider Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data, in particular the IP address, time, requested address, amount of data transferred, and browser and operating-system information. This processing serves the secure and reliable delivery of the website and protection against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We do not use advertising or marketing services on the website and do not store cookies ourselves. For reach measurement we use Umami on our own server in Frankfurt am Main, Germany (analytics.bitbeans.de). It processes the page visited, referrer, country of origin, device type, screen size, browser and operating system; visits are distinguished by a daily rotating, non-reversible hash value and the IP address is not stored. We also count clicks on the App Store and Google Play buttons; only the store and the app are transmitted. No user profiles are created, the data is not shared with third parties and is deleted after 14 months. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the analytics server is hosted by OVHcloud in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and operated exclusively within the EU. If your browser sends “Do Not Track”, the visit is not measured; you can also object to the measurement at any time at support@ourround.de.

What the app processes

OurRound is a tally sheet and tab for drinks at the table. There is no account, no sign-in and no push notifications; groups, friends and shared events no longer exist. The names, drinks, prices and payments on your lists, your settings and your history stay on your device.

Only the following is sent to us or to third parties: anonymous daily counters of product telemetry without personal data (see below), the purchase check between the app, the store and our server (see Purchases), and messages you send yourself through the feedback form or by email.

Local backup

The export under “Backup & device transfer” creates a local file with your lists, names, drink entries and item settings. The file is protected as an AES-256-encrypted ZIP with a password chosen by you and leaves your device only if you share or store it yourself. Restore is impossible without that password; keep the file and the password separate and safe.

Purchases

OurRound Pro is a one-time purchase. It is handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play, which act as independent controllers. To unlock Pro, the app, the store and our server check the purchase. For this, the app uses an anonymous purchase session with a random identifier, without an account and without a sign-in; there is no link to Google, Apple or an email address. Restoring works through your Apple or Google store account.

We store the verification result, the store transaction identifier and the random purchase session as far as needed for purchase restoration, refunds, fraud prevention or statutory retention duties. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Anonymous usage counters (product telemetry)

So that we can see whether the app is easy to understand and where a purchase fails, it reports a few fixed technical events to our backend operated on Cloudflare, for example app start, introduction page, list started, first tally, settlement opened or shared, payment marked, start time, review flow, and purchase steps such as purchase page shown, buy tapped, cancelled, failed or restored. Only the event name, a fixed stage or reason (for example a rough size range), platform, app version, app language and install source (store or test) are sent – no names, list names, drinks, texts, amounts, account, sign-in or device identifier and no purchase receipts. We do not store individual reports; we count them per day right away. The IP address is used only to limit abuse and is not stored with the counters. We delete product counters after 90 days at most, and purchase-step and error counters after 14 days at most. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is improving the app and finding and fixing purchase problems. You can object at any time by emailing apps@bitbeans.de.

In-app feedback

If you use the feedback form, we store your voluntarily entered text, optionally your contact email, plus the app version, platform and language on our servers to handle your request. Cloudflare Email Service also forwards your feedback with these details by email to our mailbox support@ourround.de. We delete the entry on our servers automatically 180 days after receipt, and we also delete the email copy in our mailbox no later than 180 days after receipt. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Ads and tracking

The app does not show third-party advertising and does not build advertising profiles.

Service providers

We use service providers for app distribution, purchases, hosting, storage and support, in particular Apple, Google Play and Cloudflare. Where providers act on our behalf, data processing agreements under Art. 28 GDPR are in place. Store purchases are regularly processed by Apple or Google as independent controllers.

International transfers

Some service providers may process personal data outside the EU/EEA. Where there is no adequacy decision, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards, in particular EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or on applicable statutory exceptions.

Security

Data about purchases, feedback and counters is transmitted only over encrypted connections. Your lists are stored in the protected app storage of your device.

Retention and deletion

Your lists stay on your device until you delete them or remove the app. We keep purchase information only as long as it is needed for purchase restoration, refunds, fraud prevention or statutory retention duties. We delete in-app feedback no later than 180 days after receipt, both on our servers and as the forwarded email copy in our mailbox. Anonymous product counters are kept for 90 days at most, purchase-step and error counters for 14 days at most.

Earlier versions: connected features are being shut down

Earlier versions of OurRound offered an optional account (sign-in with Google or Apple through Firebase Authentication), connected groups, friends, shared events and push notifications. These connected features are being shut down. If you used them, export your data in the app first (Backup). Afterwards the connected data on our servers is deleted: account, groups, friendships, shared event histories and push registration.

Until then you can delete your account yourself at any time or ask us by email. Details: Delete your data.

Your rights

Subject to the statutory requirements, you have the rights under Art. 15–21 GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for our registered office is the LfDI Baden-Württemberg.
